How to pay with Monero, step by step
Paying with XMR takes about two minutes once you've done it once. Here's exactly how.
Paying with Monero is simpler than it sounds. If you've ever scanned a QR code, you can do it.
1. Get a wallet
Pick a wallet you control: Cake Wallet or Monerujo on a phone, Feather or the official GUI on a computer. Write down your 25-word seed and keep it offline. That seed is your money. See best Monero wallets.
2. Get some XMR into it
Buy, swap or earn some. The quickest route is a card purchase in the Monero.com app: see the fastest way to get Monero. For no ID at all, see buying Monero without KYC.
3. Open the invoice
At checkout, choose Monero. You'll see an address, an exact amount and a QR code. The invoice is usually valid for a limited time because the price is locked to the exchange rate.
4. Scan and send
Scan the QR code with your wallet. It fills in the address and the amount. Check it, hit send. The fee is usually a few cents.
5. Wait for a confirmation
Monero blocks come every two minutes or so. Most shops wait for one confirmation, some for ten. Then it's done.
Sent the wrong amount?
Good shops handle it. On LateLune, anything you overpay or underpay goes to your account balance, so nothing is lost.
